บทคัดย่อ

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the practice and effects of using the hostel business management practice in Chiang Mai Province according to the new normal tourism, including studying the satisfaction of customers who use hostel business in Chiang Mai according to new normal tourism. Data were collected from 30 hostels located in Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province, by using 
an entrepreneur interview form and self-assessment form of the establishment in March 2022. After that, data were collected using the customer satisfaction questionnaire between April-May 2022 and then analyzed through data consistency check or data triangulation and using statistical software packages to analyze quantitative data. The results of the research revealed a total of 1 2 practices of managing hostel business according to the new normal tourism. As a result of using such practices, the business was unable to generate profits to a satisfactory level due to reduced revenue from room rental. Even if there was additional income from other channels but most operators were in a state of cost control at a low level and management of income to be sufficient for expenses. 
For general information of customers, it was found that most of the samples were foreign nationals, male, with average age of 27.61 years, single status, bachelor's degree, domiciled in Europe, stayed for sightseeing or leisure, with average length of stay of 2.87 days, single stay in a dormitory room. Most of them had experience in staying in hostels before and were a new customer staying at this hostel for the first time. They had a low level of stress and anxiety about the COVID-19 situation and were satisfied with the new normal tourism practices at the highest level in terms of safety and cleanliness of the place, in terms of other aspects of stay, and in terms of service. They were satisfied with the staff, service providers and the standard of accommodation at a high level.
