Abstract
The adoption and investment in cryptocurrencies have seen remarkable growth in recent years, capturing the attention of investors and scholars alike. This study investigates the factors influencing investment decisions in cryptocurrency among college students in Chiang Mai, Thailand. A survey was conducted, gathering data from 200 valid responses, which were analyzed to identify key determinants impacting investment choices. The demographic characteristics of the respondents, including gender, age, education level, field of study, and monthly income, were examined. Additionally, the study delved into variables such as attitude toward cryptocurrency investment, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control to comprehensively assess their influence on investment decisions. Findings reveal that attitudes toward cryptocurrency investments, particularly beliefs in its profit potential and trust in blockchain technology, significantly shape investment decisions. However, subjective norms, such as family support or influence from peers and experts, have a lesser impact. Perceived behavioral control factors, including understanding digital currencies and having available capital, also play a pivotal role in investment choices. In conclusion, this study highlights the multifaceted nature of investment decision-making in cryptocurrencies among college students in Chiang Mai. The results suggest that educational initiatives to enhance understanding of cryptocurrency technology and its mechanisms, coupled with strategies to build trust in the sector, could contribute to more informed and confident investment decisions.
